Not your typical suits-and-blueprints operation. We're a bunch of design nerds who genuinely care about making buildings that don't trash the planet.
Started back in 2009 when three of us were sitting in a Vancouver coffee shop, sketching on napkins and complaining about how most buildings seemed designed for everything except people and the environment. We figured we could do better.
Fast forward fifteen years, and we've built a team that actually gets it. We're not trying to win awards (though we've picked up a few along the way). What we're really after is creating spaces where people wanna be, spaces that'll still make sense fifty years from now when everyone's finally caught up to what climate change actually means.
Vancouver's our home base, and honestly, this city's taught us a lot about balancing urban density with natural beauty. It's kinda the perfect lab for what we do.
Every building's a conversation between the land, the people using it, and the future generations who'll inherit what we leave behind. Sounds heavy, but it's pretty straightforward when you think about it.
We don't do cookie-cutter. Each project starts with listening - really listening - to what you need, what the site's telling us, and what makes sense for the neighborhood. Then we design something that works on all those levels.
We're obsessed with details that matter. Natural light, airflow, materials that'll last, systems that don't guzzle energy. This isn't extra - it's baseline for us.
And yeah, we stay on budget and on schedule. Beautiful design doesn't mean anything if it bankrupts you or never gets finished. We've learned the hard way how to balance vision with reality.
Three architects, one shared frustration with conventional design. Started small with residential renovations that prioritized energy efficiency when it wasn't trendy yet.
Landed our first commercial project - a mixed-use building in Gastown. Proved we could scale our approach beyond single-family homes. That project's still getting cited in local green building case studies.
Moved to our current Burrard Street location and doubled the team. Brought in specialists for structural engineering, interior design, and sustainability consulting. Finally felt like a real firm.
Received certification as a B-Corp and picked up a few industry awards. More importantly, saw three of our buildings achieve net-zero energy status. That's the stuff that keeps us going.
Running fifteen active projects across BC, mentoring younger architects, and still learning something new with every build. We've gotten better at what we do, but we're just as picky about which projects we take on.
Principal Architect & Co-Founder
Been drawing buildings since she was five. Studied at UBC, spent time in Copenhagen learning from the Scandinavian masters. She's the one who'll catch the details everyone else misses.
Principal Architect & Co-Founder
Former structural engineer who switched to architecture because he wanted to design things, not just make sure they wouldn't fall down. Brings a practical edge to every project.
Principal Architect & Co-Founder
The sustainability guru before it was a buzzword. Grew up off-grid on Vancouver Island, knows more about passive solar design than anyone we've ever met. She's why our buildings actually work.
Senior Interior Architect
Joined us in 2018 after working with some big-name firms in Toronto. She bridges the gap between the building envelope and how spaces actually feel when you're in them.
Project Manager
The guy who keeps everything on track. Former contractor who got tired of fixing other people's design mistakes, decided to get in earlier in the process. He's saved more than a few projects from going sideways.
Sustainability Consultant
Our building science specialist. Does the energy modeling, spec's the mechanical systems, makes sure our green ambitions translate to actual performance. She's borderline obsessive about data, which works perfectly for us.
Whether you've got a rough idea or detailed plans, we're here to figure it out together. Let's talk about what you're trying to build.
